Get to Know Dr. Sefcik

Dr. Sefcik was born and raised in Michigan, and attended Hartland High School. After high school, he attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a double major in Professional Golf Management and Marketing.

Shortly after graduating in 1993, he was elected to membership in the Professional Golfers’ Association. He worked in all facets of the golf business, honing his interpersonal communication skills. Those skills have transitioned nicely into the medical field, affording him excellent patient-doctor relationships.

In 2007, Dr. Sefcik resumed his education at Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical School, earning a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. After matriculation in 2012, his post-graduate training consisted of a three-year surgical residency at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. During his residency, Dr. Sefcik performed hundreds of surgeries, covering all facets of foot and ankle pathology. Relocating to Las Cruces, New Mexico, in May of 2015, he has proudly served the city and the surrounding communities ever since.

Dr. Sefcik is a member of the surgical medical staff at both Memorial Medical Center and Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
